Masculine birthday card

Hello Stampers

I have had a few people inquire about the sizes of all these tiny rectangles, so I am editing this post to include the measurements. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see the update. (Edited 10/8/2018).

Just sharing a quick and easy birthday card that I had created.

Using a designer series paper stack and a simple greeting was basically all it took to design this card.

Usually, I tend to try to come up with a unique design and spend a lot of time on trying to come up with a card, but this time the card came together relatively quickly.

For ordering this paper or anything others, visit my website at http://www.always.stampinup.net and then click on shop now.

Try this layout with the greeting of your choice and the color combo that inspires you and let me know how it turns out. If you like the greetings and the paper that I used, you’ll want to check out Stampin’ Up’s “Picture Perfect Birthday” photopolymer stamp set and the Wood Textures designer series paper stack.

Happy Stampin!

Thanks for visiting my blog,

Mary

I have had a few people inquire about the sizes of all these tiny rectangles, so I am editing this post to include the measurements.

– To create the base of the card, use a half-sheet of cardstock folded to 5-1/2″x4-1/4″.

– Layer on top of that a piece of coordinating c/s cut to 5-1/4″x4″.

Now for all the tiny rectangles…

– You will need four pieces of c/s cut to

1-3/4″x2-3/8″.

– To layer on top of those, you’ll also need 4 pieces of coordinating DSP cut to 1-1/2″x2-1/8″.

The greeting layer is a 2-1/2″ square of c/s topped with a 2-1/4″ piece of c/s that has been stamped with the greeting.

I am sincerely honored for the interest in my card and appreciate those who took the time to ask.

I originally built the card from the base up and adjusted my measurements as I was building the card so that it was pleasing to my sense of proportion.

It was relatively simple to put together once all the parts were cut.

I hope this will help anyone who wants to give this a try. The tiny pieces of DSP and cardstock for the rectangles on this card is also a great way to use up some of your smaller scraps.

  1. What a great masculine card! i love the clean lines and simplicity of it. I know it is not quite as simple as it looks. It takes skill to get those square all lined up! Great job! Thank you for shaing!

    1. I sometimes “case” ideas from fellow stampers and this is one of those inspired cards. But thank you for taking note of lining the squares up. That was probably the hardest part of making the card. But I did like the design so much and had fun making the card. Thank you.

    1. Hello Brandy – Thank you for visiting my blog and for being interested in my card. The name of the stamp set that I used for the greeting on this card is “Picture Perfect Birthday”. I will try to update my post with the image of this stamp set, but if you have a current Stampin’ Up catalog you will find it on page 76. To see it online, there is a link to my website (www.always.stampinup.net) in the blog post where you can click on shop to search for the set to see it online. The paper I used (wood textures designer series paper stack) is also in the current SU catalog.
Thanks again for visiting my blog! Have a great week!
